Glover Precision Become One Of The First Arizona Machine Shops To Certify To Both ISO 9001:2015 &
Working in the aerospace industry has its rewards and its responsibilities. Becoming certified to AS9100 is no small feat as it takes a serious undertaking of quality measures and customer service.
ISO 9001 is the basic quality standard that many businesses, regardless of the industry, certify to by third party auditing. AS9100 goes beyond that standard with extra requirements and is industry specific to the Aerospace, Space, and Defense Industries. The AS9100D standard came out late in 2016 and with a shorter deadline than expected, many companies are scrambling to comply with the new revision.
That was not the case with Glover Precision, Inc (GPI) in Mesa, Arizona. Mike Glover, Quality Manager for the company and an auditor himself, quickly developed the changes needed and scheduled the recertification and transition audit with Great Western Registrar in April 2017. He said "Our customers have always come to expect the best quality and value from Glover Precision. We wanted to assure all of them that we not only meet current quality standards, but exceed them as well; transitioning to ISO 9001:2015 as well as AS9100 Rev D (2016) with zero non-conformities proves that".
Glover Precision has been certified to ISO 9001 and AS9100 since 2010 and has been steadily and continually improving their processes ever since. Lynn Glover, President of Glover Precision said, "We are happy to continually comply with the latest quality standards set out by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). Its members are the organizations we work for and we want to exceed those expectation by becoming the prime supplier that they can feel confident working with. We look forward to continuing and improving our working relationship with our current and future customers". Next up on Glover Precision's list is ITAR certification, which will be completed in Q2 of 2017.
